Leather chemicals and coatings company Stahl has inked a deal with product authentication business Applied DNA Sciences to accelerate the use of molecular tagging in leather supply chains.

The the two parties met in the Netherlands today (12 April) to sign a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under which they will evaluate molecular tagging of process chemicals and coatings using Stahl’s products as a point of entry into supply chains for Applied DNA’s molecular tags. Stahl will provide technical expertise to the company relating to the process chemicals used in leather manufacturing.
