APDN sees demand for tagged textiles rebounding to pre-pandemic levels

Announces new $1.6 million order

Stony Brook, N.Y. – Applied DNA Sciences reported expanding business to supply its molecular taggant to tag textile fibers.

The molecular taggant, is a key component to CertainT, the company’s traceability system, and serves as a unique identifier that can be tested for its presence as the tagged material travels throughout the global supply chain.

The company announced a new $1.6 million order, although it did not identify the client. In addition, Applied DNA said it is engaged in a variety of textiles projects with leading apparel brands. Current tagging involves cotton, man-made cellulosic fibers, recycled polyester, leather, down & feather and specialty coatings for customers operating in in the Americas, Europe, the U.K., and Southeast Asia.
