Strategic Advisory Board

Applied DNA Sciences has formed the Strategic Advisory Board to provide guidance and industry outreach in specific market verticals.

The board consists of globally recognized experts in their fields, who have a broad viewpoint and are respected leaders of change within their vertical markets. The board will provide insights and guidance to our strategic plans and help shape the direction of our company.

Bob will guide our strategies for railways and power authorities across the globe. His impressive leadership abilities and worldwide perspective, will provide us with industry knowledge and a lens to forward thinking concepts which will optimize our solutions in these two emerging markets for APDN. Mr. Catell has agreed to Chair the Strategic Advisory Board.

Gunther Faber

Former Vice President, Sub-Saharan Africa, for GlaxoSmithKline

Gunther has over 30 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, and was a member of the GlaxoSmithKline’s Policy Team on Access to Medicine. Gunther is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of One Family Health, a US501(c)(3) tax exempt Foundation and a L3C low profit company involved in developing a franchise network of entry level primary healthcare clinics in Africa. Gunther’s experience working in Africa, which has a high concentration of pharmaceutical counterfeits, will provide critical perspective to educate leaders and create industry awareness linking our solutions to prevent the pharmaceutical supply chain from being compromised.

Vice Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer, Global Research and Development of PepsiCo

Dr. Khan leads PepsiCo’s research and development efforts, creating breakthrough innovations in food and beverage product development, delivery, packaging and production technology.  He also oversees PepsiCo’s global Performance with Purpose agenda, focused on improving health and wellbeing through the products it sells; protecting the planet by reducing the environmental footprint of the company’s operations and supply chain; and empowering people and social development around the world.

Dr. Khan was recently appointed Vice Chair of the US Council for Competitiveness and joined the Board of Food and Agriculture Research at the USDA (FFAR).

Ray Kelly

Vice Chairman of K2Intelligence, Former NYPD Commissioner

As a member of Applied DNA’s Strategic Advisory Board, Mr. Kelly will help advance the company’s expansion in law enforcement and security sectors and solution offerings, working along with other distinguished industry experts.

Mr. Kelly’s almost 50-year career in public service includes serving as commissioner of the U.S. Customs Service and as Undersecretary of Enforcement at the U.S. Treasury Department. He served as a vice president of Interpol and directed the International Police Force in Haiti, where he was awarded the exceptionally meritorious service commendation from the President of the United States. Mr. Kelly is also a retired United States Marine Corps Reserves Colonel with 30 years of service in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, including serving a combat tour in Vietnam. He received 14 citations of merit for outstanding police work during his tenure at the New York Police Department and was awarded France’s highest decoration, the Legion d’Honneur. Under Mr. Kelly’s leadership, the New York Police Department gained a reputation as the premier domestic public-safety agency in the United States. He established the first Counterterrorism Bureau of any municipal police department in the country and built the Department’s Intelligence Bureau, creating a global intelligence program with detectives stationed in cities abroad. He is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and an ABC News consultant. He is the author of the best-selling book Vigilance: My Life Serving America and Protecting Its Empire City.
